State of Affairs

A quick update on the current ongoings of Indie Rebels. We are preparing to shoot a few shorts for a number of different festivals and contests coming up soon. We’re also planning and writing the second season of Lovecraftian in conjunction with the first so that we can stack up all those callbacks nice and easy in the production process. How’s that for thinking ahead? Our team is tirelessly working on a number of projects at the moment, both personal and professional, and we hope to update you guys soon with even more fun facts! We’ve even got some things in the works to help our fellow filmmakers in the future….

…stay tuned!

A Long, Hot Sunday

After a long and hot Sunday filled with sunburn, sand, and sexual innuendo, a successful day of filmmaking has been completed. With Indie Rebels providing gear and support for the currently filming short “How Did I Get In This Field” by writer and director Rob Morton, we are celebrating some gorgeous footage shot on our own RED Scarlet Dragon #65, Ruby. With some beautiful Ronin tracking shots added to the mix, we are looking forward to the completion of this film, and the remaining shoot day in the coming weeks.

Also news of note, we have recently completed our first script competition hosted by Rob P. of Dead Eye Films, and while the field was small for the inaugural competition, the submissions were well-received and we are happy to announce more competitions in the future, so stay tuned!

Lovecraftian

So a bit of news, we’ve had an idea rolling around in our heads for a while, and a few months ago we went out to shoot some test footage. You know, just to get a bearing on our current resources. Well this week there was another full moon, and since we’ve received our upgraded RED Dragon sensor, we figured we’d get back out and test its low light sensitivity a bit in a real world scenario.

Basically, two guys, minimal resources.

Decided to do the barest minimum of a teaser. So for anyone interested, check out our camera test-slash-teaser for the currently in pre-production web series, Lovecraftian.

CFC Screening

So the Indie Rebels film Hotline made the Collaboration Filmmakers Challenge final screening, congrats to all involved! Playing this Friday night, 7pm, at the Harmony Gold theater in Los Angeles, CA, we look forward to seeing all the films at the competition.

Another Weekend, Another Short Film

This weekend we shot another short film, THE WAITING GAME, written and directed by Rob Peters, with cinematography by Chase Wrenn. This film had the support of East Coast Orphans members Rose Leisner, Corey Zetterberg, Ian Hensley, and Carrie Moore. Check out a couple of low res screenshots from the shoot!
